A Certificate of Compliance from an unregistered contractor can be rejected by an insurer or a local authority, which means it protects nobody. Half the fire companies in Cape Town show no accreditations at all on their websites. Ours are listed here with their numbers so you can check them.
South African Qualification & Certification Committee for the Fire Industry. Only technicians registered with SAQCC Fire may legally service or install fire equipment in South Africa. We hold twelve current registrations across both schemes — Detection & Gas, three of them at Commissioner level, and SANS 1475 service technicians.
SABS Permit to Apply the Certification Mark, held since 2017, for the production of reconditioned fire-fighting equipment to SANS 1475-1 (portable and wheeled rechargeable extinguishers) and SANS 1475-2 (fire hose reels and above-ground hydrants). This is what makes a Certificate of Compliance valid.
National Treasury CSD registration. No organ of state may transact with an unregistered supplier (SCM Instruction 4 of 2016/17).
Construction Industry Development Board registration, active. The 5SF grading in the Special Fire class sets the contract value we may tender for, alongside 1CE (civil), 1GB (general building) and 1SQ (specialist).
